Kelly Kousi Ph.D.
Vice President - Science Communication
I am Dr. Kelly Kousi and I am a chemist with an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. from the University of Patras (Greece) on Catalysis for Clean Energy Production. I have worked as a research scientist in Helbio and as a postdoctoral research associate in Newcastle University. My passion is to work on projects where I can make a difference by solving everyday problems. Working specifically with energy conversion technologies allows me to ensure a sustainable future for all. Currently I am a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering in the University of Surrey, Guildford (UK). I work on inorganic nanomaterials for different catalytic and energy conversion processes such as greenhouse gas conversion to synthetic fuels.
I am the Vice President in Science Communication, this includes anything that has to do with our online Magazine and Podcast, from the written content’s operations and policies to their themes and flow but I also determine how the publications will look and feel on our website making sure our content is accessible and attractive! I am also a Chief Editor, which means I manage our team of writers and editors and I also write myself a lot of the content you will see in the magazine.
Outside work (and GWiS) I love plants, reading books and exercising. Whether that is a literature book, a yoga class or kickboxing. Oh and dancing, I loooove dancing, especially contemporary ballet.
