Antonia Areali

Antonia Areali M.Sc.

My name is Antonia Areali and I have studied Biochemistry/Biotechnology at the University of Thessaly. After my B.Sc. studies, I successfully completed the M.Sc. program in Bioentrepreneurship in Greece, given by the University of Thessaly in collaboration with the National Research Foundation. The past five years, I have been living abroad, where I started by following various courses and practical internships in the field of Biology at Gothenburg, Sweden. I have also worked for three years in research on Microbial Biotechnology at NTNU University in Trondheim, Norway. One year ago, I moved back to Sweden and started working in a pharmaceutical company in Lund as a Manufacturing Scientist in antibody production for anti-cancer drugs.

I am a member of Greek Women in STEM and participate in different activities, including the mentoring program for guiding young women who would like to follow a career in Biotechnology or similar scientific fields. The reason why I am participating is my love for science and because I would like to help women's power and action in the scientific world.

In my free time, I like to travel a lot and see new places and cultures, as well as doing activities in nature, such as hiking. I also like dancing and playing music, which I have been doing from a very young age.
